Henry Turley realized that, oftentimes, a person’s first impression of a city comes from the parking garage he or she pulls into. Most of the parking garages in downtown Memphis were dirty, dark and felt unsafe. Henry Turley wanted to change this so people could arrive at downtown and be greeted immediately by a positive experience. After all, with some bright paint and jazzy murals, good lighting and music piped through speakers on every level, parking can be… well, fun! The popular garage on Union, between Main and Front, got its name!
