About Us

High above the Mississippi River, Memphis has always chartered it's own course.  Despite the city's potential, it's downtown core became more and more neglected, and by the 1970s, downtown Memphis was in desperate need of a vision.

Henry Turley understood this when he created Henry Turley Company in 1977.  Turning down an offer to lead an already established real estate firm, Henry Turley knew that he would have to forge his own path and pursue the difficult, yet rewarding, projects that have since become his calling card.  His vision was clear and simple - to turn dowtown Memphis into not only a great place to work, but a wonderful place to live.

Purposefully avoiding the quick and easy path of slapdash real estate development, Henry Turley Company has taken the long-view of community building. By aligning their interests with the community's, Henry Turley Company has become the most significant full-service development company in the region.

In addition to development, Henry Turley Company employs a tight-knit group of life-long Memphians who have built one of the region's best boutique real estate agencies, Henry Turley Realtors. Synonymous with Downtown Memphis, Henry Turley Realtors represent commercial and retail properties, a wide variety of homes, lofts, and condominiums, as well as apartments.

The early developments of South Bluffs and Harbor Town in Downtown Memphis proved to be major successes and are nationally recognized as among the most complete and successful examples of New Urbanism in the country. This innovative approach to creating communities led Henry Turley Company to restore and convert local architectural treasures into The Lofts at South Bluffs and The Shrine Building, placing them at the heart of Memphis' Downtown resurgence.

With a focus on community development and urban development, Henry Turley Company have distinguished themselves in the Mid-South region by pioneering New Urbanism, an approach to place-making that stresses the importance of living, working, and playing in the community.
